Who Is Adriana Martínez
Adriana Martínez grew up in the housing projects of Boyle Heights in the Eastside of Los Angeles, attended Stanford University and also earned an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School. Adriana has spent a lifetime searching for and finding inner peace and happiness on her own terms. She is the author of Reclaiming Me: Lessons from a First-Generation Mexican Daughter, a memoir comprised of deeply personal stories that encourages readers to reflect, discover, and embrace who they are – not just once, but throughout their lives.
“Adriana Martinez has reclaimed her story to celebrate the lessons of her working class childhood in Boyle Heights. This loving memoir is a tribute to her family’s struggle to make a better life for themselves. This story is about one woman making her American Dream come true from the barrio to Stanford to motherhood to inner-peace. Through her many struggles, dedication and courage she documents her difficult decisions which have made her find inner peace and true self-worth. As a daughter of immigrants I found this story relevant, touching and enriching, reminding me that we all have a story worth telling and reflecting on.”
